I placed this class of western pleasure horses 2 over 1, the bay stallion over the paint mare. The first place horse, the bay, was the more consistent mover, showing more style and grace throughout the class. He maintained a more level profile, better self carriage and collection. His jog was better cadenced, and his lope was more correctly propelled from his hindquarters. While the mare showed a nice downward transition from the lope to the walk, she was inconsistent in her frame, speed and carriage. Her rocking motion gave her the appearance of being heavy on the forehand.
-I definitely need to work on western pleasure reasons... ^_^
I give the edge to #2, the sorrel. He has more forward movement and is flatter kneed at both the trot and canter and more drive. Horse #1 was more cadenced at the canter but is verticle in his movement, and lets his hocks trail behind him.
