Starting with the individual that best combined muscle and quality, and ending with the most poorly balanced, I placed this class of halter geldings 2-3-1. It was 2 over 3 in my top pair, the sorrel being more striking in his profile. He possessed a more level top line, a deeper heart girth, and a larger, more powerful hip with more muscle carried down into his forearm and gaskin. In addition, he has a higher quality, more refined head, a cleaner throatlatch, and a longer, leaner neck that ties-in higher to his shoulder. Though I do concede that 3 is more correctly structured in his hind legs, I must leave him second for being short and thick through his neck, uneven in his top line, and weak in his pasterns. Moving to my second pair of 3 over 1, the palomino exhibits greater balance and muscle definition. He has a more laid back shoulder creating a shorter stronger back. He has a cleaner profile with a higher quality head, as well as a more squared hip with greater muscling. Though 1 may have a better turn to his croup, he falls to the bottom of this class, being plain in his head and neck, long and weak in his back, and post legged in his hind legs.
